The rocky silence of flesh empties this land.
I lay vibrant on the top of this earth
water gave everything to you.
Salt in my veins
makes my cuts heal.
Water stains my cuts
Ships sing songs to storms.
From the beginnings of my life
Humans are joyous.
I am no goddess of no seas,
I do not know the love of seamen.
My tears as pearls are kept in small vaults
never to be seen by mortals.
How short is the time I could be
You can see me,
As my blood cools,
we distance ourselves,
but the waves keep bringing your ship back.
Is there a place
where land and air could leave each other lonesome?
