My Darling

First published in April 24th, 2014.

In the end you will come
On my grave your sorrows hum
I will hear your silent prayers
From under all these earthly layers

Do not kill your hope, my darling
The world can be extremely charming
I will show you all its wonders
It’s not only mighty thunders

Look at all these children playing
In the slums, not a tear they showing
The sun is shining in this place
Their beings filled with sun’s grace

Look at all these people dying
Around them all these people crying
Yet serenity lies in their eyes
As they say their goodbyes

Look at all these beggars begging
Little to nothing they getting
Do you see the kindness there
Tired they are, can you see a tear?

Look around this place, my darling
Isn’t it alone quite charming
Much death and sorrow seen
And how has it always been

Can’t you see the trees
The flowers, the shining leaves?
All bad can turn to good
I hope now this understood
For even all the darkness in a graveyard
Is a beginning, though it is hard

In the end you will go
And to you the world will show
All my love will follow you
May it always in your heart lay true

And after many years go by
You will lie here by my side
There’ll be others to mourn our passing
They will learn love’s all encompassing

Live in peace now all your days
In the world you must stay
All my love with you, my darling
Share it all, you my charming

Here and Now

Nothing else matters than the present.

The whole world lives in this same moment, same time.

The future does not matter and the past has nothing to give.

This is the way the world of today thinks, a world that is beginning to forget the World Wars and doesn’t believe in the catastrophe of climate change any more. O, they have spoken of the same thing for years now, thinks the modern man and is right, because the world is full of doomsday prophets who weren’t believed in the times past either. But here and now -type living take the world’s attention away from its problems. If everything is well for the rich of the western world and the only causes of death are overweight and old age, everything is right in the world all though in reality millions of children keep quiet of their hunger every day and die away and millions of people live in tents on the borders of countries running away from unnatural death.

But a human can’t look around himself and into the future and past too much because otherwise he would become mad. He would feel guilty for living in abundance when others suffer. This is why humans look at small bits of the world at a time and by looking at those small bits he can concentrate better. It is natural for a human to help others by giving from what is theirs. When many do small things those small things become something big.

Everybody should look at the world openly and notice those in need. If you help them here and now they might just be able to get there lives back on track and pay it forward.

Monkey Bars

It is something felt in our bones and our toes and our hair

In the ends, the joints, the corners, the tips, the straights, the bends

It is something we cannot leave behind us to rot

For it is precious to our survival, revival

It is sleep, and dreams, and air, and water, and running far

There is no need for phones, internet, planes and damned cars

You only need to go out and play in the monkey bars

Looking Back, Seeing the Future

Yesterday I walked the streets of my old hometown and I was filled with sadness. I’m still fond of Salo, because I have good memories from there, but I’m glad I didn’t stay there or in Finland.

Salo is one of those towns that thrived on industry, one particular big industry. Yes, Salo until a few years ago was the home of Nokia, a mobile phone company that doesn’t exist anymore. Services and the centre were littered with shops, restaurants, a few theatres and cinemas.

Now it is a ghost town.

Salo used to be a vibrant city with a population of 55,000, when I walked the streets at around six o’clock, it was like walking in a ghost town. Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday, but I remember summers and weekends were vary similar, unless there was market day.

Now I live in another country, in a city in the western parts of Sweden with a similar infrastructure. One big factory, about the same amount of people. But the new town I live in has a lot of other things to offer. It is a good place to live, it has a college, the distance to a big city is only thirty minutes by train (it was the same with Salo, but Salo was in between Turku and Helsinki).

I love where I live nowadays and I have decided to stay in Sweden for the foreseeable future. It seems it is where I can build a future for myself by studying.
