The Wooden Rattle of Bones

The wooden rattle of bones
fills this lake.
I lay numb on the bottom of the lake
the water took everything from me.
Salt on my skin
makes my cuts bleed.
Water cleans my cuts
Ships are keeled over by storms.
From the ends of my life
Humans are sad.
I am a goddess of the seas,
I know the love of seamen.
My tears as pearls are washed away
on to the shores of mortals.
How long is the time I could be
absolutely miserable?
You cannot see me,
my charger.
As my blood boils
we approach each other,
but the waves take your ship away.
Is there a place
where sea and air could fare together?
